River Teachers Travel to India with EARS

In June 2017, River School educators Kaitlyn Jue and Emmie Robinson, and River School speech-language pathologist Shannon Weynand volunteered their time to travel to Mysore, Karnataka, India with Ending All Roads to Silence (EARS). They traveled to four schools, and worked with approximately 250 children. They assisted in fitting hearing aids to new users, assessed the speech and language of the children with hearing loss, and provided an in-service teacher training. EARS is a non-profit organization that provides hearing aids, cochlear implants, speech therapy, and support to children with hearing loss in Southern India. This is the second year that a group of teachers from The River School teachers has volunteered with EARS.
