On May 2, the River community will gather in memory of beloved teacher Jill Bailey Chenet to celebrate River and support the Jill Bailey Chenet Scholarship Fund. Families, alumni, and friends are invited to enjoy time outdoors, reconnect, and make a meaningful impact for River students. Proceeds from RiverWalk support tutoring for River students and continue Jill’s legacy of care and dedication to every child.

10:30 am: Alumni Reunion Breakfast
Reconnect with fellow alumni families and River faculty and staff.
11:00 am: RiverWalk
Gather at the pavilion for a walk along the stroller-friendly C&O Canal Towpath or take on the more adventurous Billy Goat Trail.
Noon: Spring Picnic
A relaxed gathering with lunch, lawn games, face painting, balloon artistry and time to enjoy the outdoors together.

Parking:
Parking is available onsite at Carderock. Spaces can fill quickly, so we recommend arriving early or carpooling when possible. The pavilion is located between parking lots 1 and 2.
Weather:
This is a rain or shine event.
Restrooms:
Due to park facility closures, portable restrooms with a hand-washing sink will be available onsite.
