Join a Caring Community for Families of Infants and Toddlers with Hearing Loss

The River School’s Parent Infant Program is a free resource for families of children diagnosed with hearing loss, ages birth to three years. Parents, along with their infants and toddlers, meet in person* on Wednesdays from 9:00 am - 10:00 am each week to learn about issues relating to hearing loss and share experiences with other families in similar situations, while the children engage in fun, language-stimulating activities. We embrace all communication options and strive to discuss topics that interest and support families.

The Parent Infant Program provides:

  • Family support, networking, and mentoring
  • Activities to stimulate language development
  • Sensory, language, motor and social activities
  • Information on listening technology (cochlear implants, hearing aids, etc.), communication choices and community resources

The program is facilitated by a multi-disciplinary team with training in speech-language pathology, early childhood education and development, deaf education, audiology, and psychology.

*Full COVID vaccination is required for all adults and age-eligible children (6 months and older)
