We are celebrating the many cultures represented by our community!
River families, please join us for International Night at The River School on Thursday, April 27, from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Attend this fun event with your entire family, and feel free to share a country or culture you know well, create a cultural display, or bring a dish for the international potluck.
In the weeks leading up to April 27, students will be participating in a variety of cultural and will display items that evening. On Thursday during the day, buddy classes will have a “Read Around the World” where they will listen to books from around the world in different languages read by River staff.
RSVP for International Night: If you will be bringing food, a cultural display, etc, include this in the comment section with your Evite RSVP. Please include total number in your group.
This event is not-to-be-missed! Each year, River families and friends gather together for the Jill Bailey Chenet RiverWalk and River School Spring Picnic at Carderock Park in Great Falls.
The day begins at 10:00 am with a walk along the C & O Canal, and the picnic follows at 11:30 am. In addition to lunch, there will be ice cream sundaes, fun/games for the kids. The walk and picnic are no charge!
RiverWalk is a community building event and fundraiser for The River School’s Jill Bailey Chenet Scholarship Fund, established as a tribute to our beloved teacher and friend who was a gifted teacher dedicated to her students. Jill’s commitment and spirit are at the heart of The River School reminding us everyday to celebrate life.
All families welcome to attend! One of the highlights of the year is the Elementary Program’s Spring Musical. It is truly spectacular production and the children get to experience being onstage with lights, microphones, and costumes.
Grandparents and Special Friends of all students are invited to The River School on Friday, May 12. The event begins at 9:00 am and includes classroom time, coffee and breakfast treats, and the Elementary Program’s Spring Musical.
Please note that we cannot accommodate parents at this event — we expect over 200 guests!
